World premiere of 'DRESSED TO KILL' commissioned by DECODER ENSEMBLE at Elbphilharmonie Hamburg [photos]

See the photos from the world premiere of the new Monika Dalach Sayers' multimedia work DRESSED TO KILL premiered by DECODER Ensemble at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg as a part of Hamburg International Music Festival on the 18th May 2025.  Monika's new work was performed amongst works by Alexander Schubert, Shasha Chen and MICHAELBRAILEY as a part of the "Future Recognition" concert that explored the possibilities of artificial intelligence in music and art. All works created for this concert featured 360-degree spatial audio design. Monika Dalach Sayers' commission was funded by Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. About DRESSED TO KILL:

DRESSED TO KILL is the new multimedia work by Monika Dalach Sayers that spotlights the growing fast-fashion industry’s practices for rapid mass production of short-lived products to serve the human desire for abundance. The “take-use-bin” model encourages compulsive shopping and creates excessive wastefulness. The work examines our future trajectory borne from object fetishism in a fast-paced and dynamic performance using contemporary electronic textures blended with live instruments. The ensemble will be wearing newly made costumes from recycled objects and fabrics including those worn at previous performances. The performance will be immersed in playful vivid imagery and catchy fashion slogans with abstract lighting while emulating the social media sensation of ‘unboxing’ and ‘keep or return haul’ videos.
